Online resources for pilots in Scotland.

What is available for pilots online?

There is a great deal of information and many resources for you as a pilot online, but not a great sense of community.  There are a few for professionals and plenty in the USA but general aviation in the Scotland is not very well served, although I have seen an improvement recently.

There are a few very niche groups that have an active membership but we can all learn a great deal from each other.  Wouldn't it be great if there was more of a cross over and Exchange of information? A paraglider pilot for example will be more acutely aware of what is going on with his wing than someone flying a Group A aircraft.  Why?  Because a paraglider wing can collapse and dump you on the ground quite easily.  For a Cessna to lose a wing it would take something pretty drastic!

For most businesses, clubs and groups the focus is usually on flying and the business of the group.  Maintaining an web presence is a time consuming process especially for volunteers with many other commitments.

Our mission is to provide a site which will encourage flyers, businesses, clubs, enthusiasts, cadets and the curious to contribute and share information.

Facebook, the easy way for pilots to stay in touch.

Social media is the modern day equivalent of saying hello over the garden fence to your neighbour.  With a widespread and fragmented community that was not easy to do so we created this site and a facebook page .  I hope that you will visit and "like" so that the very best and latest information about flying in Scotland will appear right in your hand in quick time.

Why should you be on facebook?  Click here for the full story.

If you would like to share your experiences or ideas I would love to hear from you so use the form below to tell your own story on your own web page or join us on Facebook.

There are regular news updates with the focus very much on the Scottish flying scene whatever form that may take.  Regardless whether your wings are made of silk or steel there will be something here of interest.  Especially if you tell us what you want to see.

Check out our where to fly page for club info.

We value your opinions and experiences so let's get the discussion going.
